Cancellations

At SJ's Leisure (www.sjleisure.co.uk), we look to offer the fairest and best quality service available.

Once you have placed an order either online or over the telephone, you have entered into a contract. However, we understand that cancellations are needed to be made from time to time in exceptional circumstances, our cancellation terms are outlined below and are designed to be very reasonable.

This policy is only in place to protect both yours and our best interests and ensure that our out of pocket expenses are covered. It is not designed to be profitable on our part.

Orders up to £100: Cancellations are accepted. All we ask is that you cancel the order at least 7 days before your event. DEPOSIT FEE'S AND BOOKING FEES ARE STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON TRANSFERABLE. Should your order be cancelled later than 7 days before your event or on the day of the event (including refusal of delivery on arrival) your order will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee (Reduced to 50% if paid within 7 days) to cover cost already laid out for your booking such as the 'hold', testing and organising of your equipment, test loading up, vehicle & generator hire and staff commitments which will now have to be paid for regardless of whether your event goes ahead or not.

Orders between £100 and £200: Cancellations are accepted but must be made at least 10 days in advance of the event in order not to incur a cancellation charge. DEPOSIT FEE'S AND BOOKING FEES ARE STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON TRANSFERABLE. Cancellations made between 10 days in advance of the event and up until 12pm (noon) on the day before your event will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee (Reduced to 25% if paid within 7 days) to cover our costs. Should your order be cancelled after 12pm (noon) on the day before your event or on the day of the event (including refusal of delivery on arrival), your order will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee to cover cost already laid out for your booking such as the 'hold', testing and organising of your equipment, loading up, vehicle & generator hire and staff commitments which will now have to be paid for regardless of whether your event goes ahead or not.

Orders between £200 and £400: Cancellations are accepted but must be made at least 14 days in advance of the event in order not to incur a cancellation charge. DEPOSIT FEE'S AND BOOKING FEES ARE STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON TRANSFERABLE. Cancellations made between 14 days in advance of the event and up until 12pm (noon) on the day before your event will be subject to a 50% cancellation (Reduced to 25% if paid within 7 days) fee to cover our costs. Should your order be cancelled after 12pm (noon) on the day before your event or on the day of the event (including refusal of delivery on arrival), your order will be subject to a 100% cancellation (Reduced to 50% if paid within 7 days) fee to cover cost already laid out for your booking such as the 'hold', testing and organising of your equipment, loading up, vehicle & generator hire and staff commitments which will now have to be paid for regardless of whether your event goes ahead or not.

Orders over £400: Unfortunately all orders over the value of £400 are subject to a 50% cancellation fee regardless of when the order or cancellation is made due to the large amount of preparation and event management that will have taken place already that must be recovered. DEPOSIT FEE'S AND BOOKING FEES ARE STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON TRANSFERABLE. Should your order be cancelled after 12pm (noon) on the day before your event or on the day of the event (including refusal of delivery on arrival), your order will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee (Reduced to 50% if paid within 7 days) to cover cost already laid out for your booking such as the 'hold', testing and organising of your equipment, loading up, vehicle & generator hire and staff commitments which will now have to be paid for regardless of whether your event goes ahead or not.

Cancellations on arrival due to not fitting, unsuitable surface etc: All sizes, dimensions and suitable surfaces are clearly displayed on our website. Should we arrive on the day and the items not fit in your chosen venue or event area or be on an unsuitable surface, 'untidy' surface applies, your order will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee to cover cost already laid out for your booking such as the 'hold', testing and organising of your equipment, loading up, vehicle & generator hire and staff commitments which will now have to be paid for regardless of whether your event goes ahead or not. No exceptions. DEPOSIT FEE'S AND BOOKING FEES ARE STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON TRANSFERABLE.

Prior cancellations: As part of our cancellation policy, any customer(s) who have previously cancelled a hire with our company now flag up on our booking system and we may require pre-payment for the hire.

Refusal of delivery: Should our team arrive at your venue and for whatever reason you cancel the booking your order will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee to cover cost already laid out for your booking such as the 'hold', testing and organising of your equipment, loading up, fuel costs, vehicle & generator hire and staff commitments which will have to be paid for regardless of whether your event goes ahead or not. WET OR BAD WEATHER IS NOT A VALID REASON FOR TURNING US AWAY WITHOUT NOTICE AND THE CANCELLATION CHARGE WILL STILL APPLY.

The only way in which to avoid a penalty is to provide our delivery team with a copy of your Cancellation Confirmation.

Failure to pay on the day will result in your case being presented to Daniel Silverman Ltd as outlined below.

General terms applicable to all cancellations

ALL cancellations must be made in writing via email regardless of how the equipment was booked and within the time scales outlined above.

Cancellations left on a voice mail are not acceptable as they may not be picked up until after your event. You must speak with a human being during normal working hours (Mon-Fri, 9am - 5pm). Failure to do so may result in a cancellation charge.

In the case of email, if no confirmation is received from us within 24hrs, please contact us immediately via telephone (01744 602716) to verify your request has been received. If no verification can be proved or cancellation email produced then you will still be charged the appropriate fee as outlined above.

No cancellation is final until we have sent you a cancellation notice via email. If you haven't received the email please call us for verification in order to avoid disappointment and a charge.

Legal Action: *Failure to adhere to the payment terms & conditions will result in your file being passed over to Daniel Silverman Ltd for action. Daniel Silverman (Reg Company number 3998129) are a dedicated debt recovery agent that will act on our behalf to recover any outstanding payments and will represent us in the event of court proceedings taking place. Daniel Silverman Ltd are members of the Credit Services Association (CSA) are Registered with the Data Protection Agency (Reg NoZ08889433) and are licensedby the Consumer Credit Act (Licence No 572341 - Issued by the office of fair trading) Should Daniel Silverman Ltd be instructed to act on our behalf, they will automatically increase the outstanding balance of this invoice by 15%.
