Christmas Lights Switch-On at The Strand, Bootle – Event Recap
Saturday 15th November was a brilliant day for our team as we headed over to The Strand shopping centre in Bootle to help bring their Christmas lights switch-on event to life. This was an event we’d been working on with the client since July, so it was great to finally see all the planning pay off and showcase our inflatable hire and event entertainment equipment.
The Strand team came to us in the summer with their initial brief and a few Christmas hire products they’d spotted on our website. From there, we worked together to make sure everything chosen would be suitable for the space, safe for the public, and deliver the festive atmosphere they were looking for. In September, once the kids were back in school, we visited the shopping centre to walk the area with the client, check power points, look at access routes and generally make sure everything would run smoothly on the big day.
And it absolutely did.
The event was a huge success and went down brilliantly with shoppers, the event staff and the shopping centre team. We heard so many comments throughout the afternoon about how lively the centre felt and how people hadn’t seen it that busy in a long time. It was fantastic to see so many families coming out to enjoy Christmas entertainment and support their local high street rather than relying on online shopping.
What We Provided
For this festive event we supplied a great range of Christmas inflatables, family entertainment and funfair-style games, including:

Fully dressed Inflatable Santa’s Grotto, complete with white picket fencing, fake snow scenes, wooden sleigh prop, festive presents, light-up Christmas tree signs, a vintage-style Santa throne and an organised meet-and-greet entrance with red carpet, silver stanchions and plush ropes.
The event took place indoors from 12pm to 5pm. We arrived for setup at around 9:30am and were packed up and leaving just before 6pm. Being based in St Helens, it’s a simple 35–40 minute drive for us, and we’re very familiar with the Bootle area, having supplied inflatable hire in Merseyside and event entertainment across the North West since 1994.
Overall, it was a brilliant day and a great way to help kick off Bootle’s festive season with high-quality event hire services and plenty of Christmas cheer.
